What is the 99 Series?

The 99 Series is a new points series in 2008, awarding 100% cash prizes to the following categories:

Field Value Places
Pro / Elite 1 $2500 20
Pro / Elite 1/2 Women $2500 20
Elite 2 $1000 10
Elite 3 $500 5
Masters 35+ 1/2/3 $500 5

All participating events are easily accessible from the main traffic artery of the San Joaquin Valley, California Highway 99.

How to Enter

You are entered in the 99 Series simply by registering to race in one of the series fields. The only required event is the Visalia Criterium (see "Awards" below).

You can enter any 99 Series field that your are eligible to race with. There are no restrictions on how many fields or events you enter.

Event registration is available online for each event through SportsBaseOnline.

Rules

  • Earning Points: points are earned for every race you finish in a participating field (Pro/1, Pro/1/2 Women, Elite 2, Elite 3, and Masters 35+ 1/2/3). You must finish the race to be eligible for points.
  • Scoring: The number of points awarded is based on the starting field size.
    Example:
100 riders start in the Pro/1 field. First place receives 100 points, second place receives 99 points, third place receives 98 points, etc.
  • Available Points: points will be awarded to all riders that are placed by the USCF Officials in the final results. If a rider is not placed by officials, no points will be awarded to that rider.
  • Tie Breakers: In the event of a points tie at the conclusion of an event, the placing in the last event will determine the placing. In the event of a tie after the final event (Visalia Criterium), the first tiebreaker will be the placing in the Exeter Time Trial. The second tiebreaker will be the placing in the Visalia Criterium.

Awards

  • A Leader's Jersey will be awarded to the points leader in each field at the conclusion of each weekend (Merco Foothills Road Race and Tower District Criterium).
  • The final Winner's Jersey will be awarded at the conclusion of the Visalia Criterium.
  • If you think you are the current points leader in your field, you must be present in the awards area at the conclusion of your event to receive your jersey.
  • You must race in the Visalia Criterium to be eligible for any cash prizes. If a rider does not start the Visalia Criterium, they will be removed from the final standings and riders will be moved up in the standings.
  • You must pick up your prizes at the conclusion of the Visalia Criterium. No prizes will be mailed out after the event.
